For nearly 10 years, H. Porter & Son’s John Porter Community Fund has been providing financial help to local good causes.

Groups and projects supported include schools, conservation schemes and churches – all of which make our local community a brilliant place to live and work.

To commemorate a decade of donations, we’re launching a new initiative aimed at delivering hands-on assistance to organisations in the Stourbridge, Kinver and Hagley areas.

Starting in April 2024, H. Porter & Sons Community Engagement Month will see members of our team (including Simon Griffiths and Nick Whittle, pictured) working on local charitable projects.

This could include tidying up a garden, for example at a hospital or hospice, or maybe the grounds of a church.

The team would also be happy to get involved with landscaping at a playing field, or some maintenance or decorating tasks at a community hub.

As long as it’s in the service of a locally based good cause, the list of ways we can help is potentially endless.

Applications from interested organisations should be made in writing to mariadavis@hporter.co.uk, and include details of the task(s), location and ideal date and time.

Alternatively, for further information about H. Porter & Son’s Community Engagement Month, please telephone 01384 395048.

We also continue to invite applications for funding via the John Porter Community Fund to the email address: lucyporter@hporter.co.uk
