• Pat Porter - Proprietor

    Pat joined the business in the late 70s to support her husband, John. Pat had a previous career in the civil service and local government and joined H. Porter & Sons to run the financial side of the business and to provide the catering service in The Lounge.

  • Lucy Porter - Business Owner & Director

    Lucy joined the business from a transportation project management background in 2004 to support her father, John. Lucy is passionate about impeccable service, client and staff well-being, and the environment. Lucy has three young daughters who may join the business themselves one day – for now, they are happy helping with the filing and eating the staff biscuits.

  • Lucy Parker - General Manager

    Lucy joined H Porter & Sons in 2025, with nine years’ experience of management in the financial sector. She takes pride in ensuring the team has the necessary support and resources to deliver the highest standard of service to our customers. Lucy holds a degree in Applied Management from Henley Business School and is a member of the Chartered Management Institute.

  • Alex Gray

    Alex Gray - Deputy Manager

    Alex Joined the team at H Porter & Sons in 2021, with four years of funeral industry experience behind him. Alex’s accurate attention to detail and desire to continually improve shine through in all that he does. As Deputy Manager, Alex is always willing to do his best to ensure that the perfect funeral for a loved one is delivered to a high standard. Alex completed his Diploma in Funeral Arranging and Administration in 2024, graduating with a distinction.

  • Ian James

    Ian James - Funeral Director

    Ian joined H Porter & Sons in 2019, with a wealth of knowledge and 12 years funeral industry experience. As Funeral Director, he enjoys being part of a team and is always willing to help and take on any tasks that may be required. He works hard for each and every family ensuring they have the most fitting funeral for their loved one. Ian holds the NAFD Level 4 Higher Diploma in Funeral Directing.

  • Sam Berridge

    Sam Berridge - Office Coordinator

    Sam joined H.Porter & Sons in July 2019 as an office administrator, having previously worked at Stourbridge Crematorium for 12 years, gaining a lot of useful knowledge and experience along the way. He particularly enjoys the caring side of the role and always hopes to make a real difference to our families in their time of need. His current role is that of Office Coordinator. Sam holds the NAFD Diploma in Funeral Arranging and Administration.

  • Vivien Hill - Mortuary Technician

    Vivien is our Mortuary Technician. Vivien joined H Porter & Sons in 2022 after qualifying with Distinction and receiving her MBIE (Member of the British Institute of Embalmers) Membership.

    Vivien is pleased to join H Porter & Sons and strives to continue to support and maintain the impeccable high standard of dignity and respect afforded to those in our care, while also ensuring support to their families and friends. Vivien also supports the overall operations with first calls and funeral duties.  Vivien has a caring nature and is a perfectionist in all she does – H Porter & Sons feel very privileged to have her as part of the team.

    Hannah Minton, Emma Higgins, Marianne Stackhouse, and Christine Hall are our approachable and friendly office staff who between them ensure that all the administration, accounts, printing and reception duties are carried out professionally and efficiently.

  • Funeral Operatives

    Funeral Operatives Team

    Simon Griffiths, Charlie Lewis, Chad Edwards, Nick Whittle and Sally Green are our trustworthy, smart and adaptable team of funeral operatives. Coordinated by Simon, they all have their own specific areas, be it cars, coffin preparation, or health and safety, and they are all involved in driving, bearing and assisting on funerals.
