Funeral assistant – casual (including on-call)

The funeral assistant will be:
– Smartly attired in provided uniform at all times.

The funeral assistant’s role shall include, but will not be limited to:
– Carrying of coffins into/out of churches and crematoria.
– Lowering of coffins for burial.
– Driving of funeral vehicles/company vehicles, following familiarisation.
– Assisting the funeral director while they are conducting the funeral.
– Assisting mourners if called upon.
– Ensuring flowers on a funeral are dealt with as required.
– Providing 24-hour on-call cover as per the roster (currently one week in four).
– Promotion of company and services.
– Assisting with other duties when colleagues are on leave.
