H. Porter & Sons is pleased to announce that the latest award from The John Porter Community Fund will go towards supporting local families in need of a meal this autumn.

Every three months the charitable initiative, set up in memory of the business’s former owner John Porter, donates up to £500, either to an individual charity or split across a number of charities.

For our latest donation covering the three months to September 2020, we’ve made an award of £500 to the Black Country Food Bank, whose services are sadly needed more than ever. See picture featuring (from left) Jen Coleman of Black Country Food Bank and Lucy Porter of H. Porter & Sons.

H. Porter & Sons is proud to support this organisation, which is making a big difference to families across our community in difficult times. Our Stourbridge premises in South Road (DY8 3UJ) is also a local collection point for food donations to Black Country Food Bank and these can be dropped off during office hours Monday to Friday.

We’re now appealing to community groups across Stourbridge to apply for support from the John Porter Community Fund for the coming three months.

The next award will be made in early January and the types of causes eligible for donations are: charities, community organisations and voluntary groups.

Essentially, if your organisation is reliant on charitable support and is doing good things in our community, we want to hear from you.

To apply, simply write to H. Porter & Sons’ Business Owner and Director Lucy Porter at lucyporter@hporter.co.uk. Further information about the Fund can be found here, alternatively, we can be contacted on 01384 395048.
