At H. Porter & Sons, we are committed to keeping the families in our care safe during the pandemic, whilst continuing to provide the opportunity for people to honour loved ones in the most meaningful and respectful way possible.

Part of our service involves the provision of modern limousines which allow families to accompany a loved one on their final journey in comfort.

However, with the increasing need to take additional steps to help prevent the spread of coronavirus, we feel it a sensible precaution to limit passenger numbers to four per journey.

Passengers should also be from the same household or support bubble, in line with both Dudley Council’s latest advice to avoid household mixing indoors and national advice on travel to and from funerals. This can be viewed here.

As a further measure to protect our clients and staff, we have installed protective acrylic screens dividing the driver and funeral director from passengers in the rear of the vehicle.

As limousines come under private hire restrictions, passengers are required to wear face coverings by law. It is also the case, however, that face coverings may be removed for funerals if a person is distressed.

For example, we fully understand the need to use a tissue to wipe one’s eyes and nose when upset. This is perfectly acceptable and rest-assured our staff will always care for you in a sensitive and respectful manner.
