The team at H Porter & Sons would like to reassure families that we are working our usual hours and are there 24/7 to support anyone in our community facing a bereavement – as we have always been.

Although the first steps towards easing the lockdown are being taken, coronavirus social distancing measures will continue to apply at our premises in South Road, Stourbridge, for the time being.

When visiting our offices, please remain outside of the barrier in our reception area which has been installed to reduce the risk of transmission of Covid-19.

Whilst we always wish to make visitors feel welcome and at ease, we are sadly unable to shake hands at the moment. In accordance with the latest Government advice, our team is wearing gloves and face coverings to protect you and ourselves from the virus.

With regard to funeral services, Stourbridge and Gornal Wood crematoriums continue to be limited to attendance by immediate family only, up to a maximum of 10 people.

Social distancing measures apply and mourners from the same household may share a pew. Mourners who do not live together must sit at least 2m apart. For that reason, alternate pew seating arrangements are in place.

Wyre Forest crematorium currently allows 20 mourners.

We regret that our limousines are currently unavailable due to the need to socially distance from one another. However, we are awaiting delivery of screens to protect the families we serve and our driver.

Once the screens are in place, limousines will be available, to be shared by members of the same household only. By doing this, we can keep our clients and our staff as safe as possible.

We hope this information is useful and we understand the difficulty that restrictions are causing for bereaved families. If you have any concerns or questions about the measures, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01384 395048.
